Not long after proposing to my wife, Indy, her parents decided it was the right time for them to do the same. Tony and Maree had been engaged for 33 years, and in their words “just never got around to it”. So, about a week after Indy and I tied the knot, we met up with her parents and siblings in Ventura for a second round of wedding celebrations. Indy made her mother’s bouquet with California mountain flowers & a few bits from a florist in Ojai that came out amazing (what can’t she do?) After running into a few road blocks while trying to find a local officiant, I contacted a new friend of mine, Denny Bales, who I met on a photoshoot for Crawford Denim a couple months ago. Denny got certified to officiate the wedding and drove two hours up the coast with his girlfriend, Meagan, to wed my in-laws.Tony and Maree are the best in-laws I could have ever hoped for. They are selfless, hilarious & give no power to negativity. The purple sky, the cold sand on our feet, the beaming faces of their family, the tequila warm in our bellies, the tears in our eyes: the whole scene couldn’t have been more them. So raise your glasses of port and club soda wine for these newly weds!
